Mitchell Park

Location:
Mitchell Park is located on Shepard Street just off Rose Branch Street near Vinco.

Facilities:
Mitchell Park has two baseball fields which are widely used and is home to the Jackson-East Taylor Little League. Other facilities include picnic areas, concession stand, playground area, basketball and Tennis. Additional pavilions and walking trails are currently under consideration to be added.

Eagle Scout Project by A. J. Pagano of Jackson Boy Scout Troop 204 in 2008 included landscaping an area at Mitchell Park between the two ballfields and adding 2 benches and lighting for the flag pole.

Aaron works on the completion of a picnic table cosntructed for use at Mitchell Park as part of his 2008 Eagle Scout Project.

Josh Bednar from Jackson Township Boy Scout Troop 204 landscaped an area of Mitchell Park behind the Concession Stand Building along with constructing 2 new picnic tables.

Leidy Park

Location:
On Leidy Lane about 1/4 mile off of Bracken Street. Bracken Street can be accessed from Route 271 just south of the Jackson Elementary School or near St. Pauls
Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Facilities:
Leidy Park has a ball field under development. There are also volleyball courts, a
beautiful picnic shelter and playground area. Fencing around the park was recently installed and a parking area is planned. A walking track around the park is
currently being developed and more additions are planned for the future.

Loraine Park

Location:
Loraine Park is located off of Loraine Road just up from Route 271 in Nanty Glo. Loraine Road can also be accessed from Fords Corner Road off Route 22.

Facilities:
Loraine Park offers a large fishing pond and there is a walking path around the pond with benches, swings and picnic tables. This is the site of the Annual Jackson Township Fishing Derby.
